We specialize in plastic and non-metallic machining and fabrication, and are one of the leading non-metallics fabricators in the United States. CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machinist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Perform Most CNC Mill and/or Lathe Set-Up’s and Operate CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machines According to Process Sheets Under General Supervision (Intermediate Level). Perform CNC Mill Set-Up’s and Operate CNC Mill Machines According to Process Sheets With No Supervision or Assistance (Advanced Level).

    • Edit, Send, or Retrieve CNC Programs From Systems Files as Required For Mill and/or Lathe Machine Set-up and Operation.

    • Read and Interpret Manufacturing Paperwork (Travelers, Blueprints, Sketches, Etc.) in Order to Produce Products as Required by Customer Specifications and Quality Standards.

    • Inspect and Verify Own Work Prior to Submitting to Quality Department For First Article Inspection.

  • Meet Needed Quote Times and Schedule for Assigned Work.

  • Correctly Process Required Work-Related Paperwork and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Documents.

  • Communicate Regularly With Supervisors and Other Employees Regarding any Production Issues and Ways to Eliminate Possible Errors on Set-up and/or Programming.

    • Perform Non-CNC Tasks When Necessary, such as Hand-Work Operations.

    • Evaluate and Update “Estimated to Actual” Cycle Times.

  • Conduct All Shop Functions in a Safe Manner.

  • Perform Other Duties as Required.

     

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 Years of Relevant CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machine Experience is Required (Intermediate Level). Minimum of 5 Years of Relevant CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machine Experience is Required (Advanced Level).

  • Ability to Read and Understand Blueprints and Technical Documents.

  • Ability to Use Various Inspection Tools Such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, and Comparators.

  • Familiarity with Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) is desired (Advanced Level).

  • Understanding of Mill and/or Lathe Programs Including Formatting and Editing Programs.

  • Strong Shop Math Skills Including the Ability to Perform Measurement Conversion.

  • A Genuine Belief in Continuous Improvement and a Disciplined Process.

  • Excellent Communication Skills (Written/Verbal).

  • Basic Computer Knowledge.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to Stand, Walk, and Sit.

  • Ability to Use Hands and Fingers to Handle and/or Feel Objects.

  • Ability to Reach, Push, and Pull.

  • Ability to Balance, Stoop, Kneel, and Crouch.

  • Able to Lift and/or Move Up to 25 Pounds and Occasionally Lift and/or Move Up to 50 Pounds. Ask For/Assistance Available for Lifting Over 25 Pounds.

  • Ability to Communicate with Other Employees and/or Supervisor (Verbal/Written).

Entry Level CNC Mill and/or Lathe

Machinist

This position is available for an Entry Level CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machinist. See specific position requirements below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate CNC Mill/Lathe Machines According to Process Sheets Under Direct Supervision.

  • If Part is Non-Conforming, Use Non-Conforming Material Procedure.
  • Meet Needed Quote Times and Schedule for Assigned Work.
  • Correctly Process Required Work-Related Paperwork and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Documents.
  • Communicate Regularly With Supervisors and Other Employees Regarding any Production Issues.
  • Perform Non-CNC Tasks When Necessary, Such as Hand-Work Operations.
  • Evaluate and Update “Estimated to Actual” Cycle Times.
  • Challenge Processes if Needed to Create a More Efficient Production Environment.
  • Conduct All Shop Functions in a Safe Manner.
  • Consistently Improve the Organization and Cleanliness of Assigned Areas (5s).
  • Perform Other Duties as Required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 0-2 Years of Relevant CNC Mill/Lathe Machining Experience is Required.
  • Ability to Read and Understand Blueprints and Technical Documents.
  • Ability to Use Various Inspection Tools Such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, and Comparators.
  • Strong Shop Math Skills Including the Ability to Perform Measurement Conversion.
  • A Genuine Belief in Continuous Improvement and a Disciplined Process.
  •  Organizational and Time Management Skills.
  • Self Starter with Ability to Multi-Task and Prioritize Daily Work Assignments.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (Written/Verbal).
  • Basic Computer Knowledge.
