Semiconductor & Electronics
Roncelli Plastics machining capability has been field-proven in the manufacture of semiconductors, where processing steps can involve extremes of both thermal and chemical exposure. Since purity is critical to high semiconductor wafer yield, reducing contamination from particulates, outgassing and extractables caused by component deterioration or impurity is a major goal of semiconductor fabricators. Through close partnerships with the world's leading OEMs, we develop solutions to improve the efficiencies of their equipment MTBF by optimizing materials and component designs. We utilize our segregated manufacturing cells to maximize our capabilities; with climate controlled manufacturing we are capable of meeting the demanding needs of the industry. If its PET, PPS, PEEK, PEKK, PI, or PBI blends or homogenous materials you need, we have the capability to meet your needs. With the variety of materials and machining technologies available manufacturers gain product integrity and process purity that is backed by more than a quarter century of success.
PEEK Advantage
Much of the semiconductor industry is moving to larger wafer sizes and smaller chips with narrower line widths and/or feature sizes. IC miniaturization demands increased performance of wafer processing and handling materials. In addition, harsher manufacturing environments, coupled with increased sensitivity to contamination, necessitate the use of high performance polymers such as PEEK, PET, PPS, PI, and PBI. PEEK is an exceptionally clean and easily processed thermoplastic that can be formulated for specific properties such as wear resistance, electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, extremely low moisture absorption, and tight tolerance.
